A Tea factory, 1880s #017 A Tea Manufacture, 1880’s
Ceylon is a island called pearl of the east,my father came from Colombo. He ran away to sea at sixteen and
ended up in England during the war helping in the merchant navy has a gunner. After the war he settled down in England though he wanted to go back to is own country to see is father mother and brothers and sisters witch he never did since he left home at sixteen to go to sea.My father died at the age of 62 of cancer not knowing about is family in Ceylon since he was a young lad at sixteen what a sad story.
