Port building at Colombo harbour was built in 1928. This is used to be the passenger jetty, later building was transformed into office complex for Colombo port authority.

I am trying to trace my Grandfather’s house, and that of my father, in Colombo. He was Thomas D Mason, Harbourmaster (Port Commissioner) in the 1920’sI believe…..he succeeded his brother-in-law Mr. Carmichael. He was then succeeded by his eldest son, Thomas. The address I have been furnished with is 1, Mutwal Gardens. However, I am unable to get any satisfaction with this address. My father, mother and sister & I came to Colombo in 1948, and lived in the Dock Bungalow, which was located alongside the dry dock.
