Queen Street, Clock Tower in the distance, Colombo Ceylon ca. 1910 Queen Street on left General Post Office, Right the Gardens of Government House, Colombo, Sri Lanka around 1910 (Ceylon).
During the years 1951/1952 I was in the Royal Navy aboard HMS Loch Glendhu which was based in Trincomalee, but we had our refits carried out in Colombo Dry Dock. I have fond memories of those times, and the crew actually were accommodated in the Bristol Hotel. I don’t remember it which is shown in the picture. I wonder if it is still there, because I would like to see it again during my anticipated vacation to Sri Lanka next year.
i would love to talk to you I am from old Ceylon
Regards Edgar
