A water buffalo working on the rice paddy in Sri Lanka Traditionally Water buffaloes were used to plough muddy paddy fields for thousands of years in Sri Lanka, nowadays buffaloes have been replaced by tractors (with small powered ploughs). Photographer/Publisher: Plate & Co, Ceylon
Hi, after a long time, I am trying to identify when the first horse carriages were brought to Ceylon, and their sequence. The carts were made in Moratuwa and possibly the later carriages were also made there. It is for an article that I am putting together.
Take care stay safe
